Registration

Registration is simple:
  1. Make a donation of at least the amount of your registration fee the Solano Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund using the link to the left.
To calculate the registration fee: add together the prices for all climbs/GC for which you are registering. For example: ($10 for Grizzly Peak + $10 for Canon + $25 for the GC 2 climbs = $45 minimum donation). Save a screenshot or printout of your email receipt, which will be uploaded in step 2.
  2. Register for the hill climb series at this form.
  3. Go out and set your time on during the week of the climb(s) you’ve registered for! Record your time on Strava -- it's how we'll compile results.
Your registration is not complete until you fill out the google form.

Registration Fees are:
- $10 per climb
- $25 per GC (This option comes in two bundles - either the climbs from GC 1 or the climbs from GC 2)
- $50 for all six climbs and both GC competitions

The climbs are:

GC 1:
  1. October 12th - October 18th: Grizzly Peak from Centennial
  2. October 19th - October 25th: Pinehurst South from Canyon
  3. October 26th - November 1st: Canon Drive (Canon Dr. times are multiplied by 2 for GC competition times)
GC 2:
  1. November 2nd - November 8th: South Park Drive
  2. November 9th - November 15th: Claremont Avenue
  3. November 16th - November 22nd: Wildcat Canyon

Note: You must register and pay separately, for each category you enter for the same climb (e.g. women's 3/4 and women's masters).

If you want to make a donation and enter our raffle, make a donation and use the same registration form. Select "Not racing" under the category question.

The Cause

2020 is one of the worst years of wildfire in California state history. Our first-ever East Bay Hill Climb Series is a charity race to benefit those impacted by the recent Bay Area wildfires disaster. All registration fees take the form of donations to the Solano Community Foundation

The Solano Community Foundation recently established a Disaster Relief Fund to help Solano County residents victimized by the LNU Lightning Complex Fires. As a relatively new Relief Fund, it can benefit greatly from additional donors such as our charity race. The Fund supports the recovery efforts in Solano County, a neighboring county of our Cal campus.

Race Format

Cal Cycling is excited to bring Bay Area riders a COVID safe cycling competition. There are racing opportunities for riders of all levels from beginner to elite, and, of course, prizes!

The hill climb series consists of 6 different climbs split into two GC (general classification) competitions. These two individual competitions are comprised of 3 climbs each. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place riders for a given GC will be the those that finish all 3 climbs in the least amount of time (ie. Climb 1 time + climb 2 time + climb 3 time = a particular rider’s overall general classification). If you’re not interested in competing in the GC competitions, not to worry! There will be competitions for each individual climb in addition to the overall GCs as well.

One climb will be open each week -- all you need to do is ride the climb in that week and upload it to Strava. Registration will open on September 14th, and details will be available on this page.

This event is open to cyclists of all ages and fitness levels. Racers and non-racers alike can participate and contribute! The categories are:

  • Men's and Women's Pro/1/2
  • Men's and Women's 3/4/Expert
  • Men's and Women's 4/5/Beginner
  • Men's and Women's P/1/2/3 Masters 45+

Not in the East Bay? You can still support these causes and enter for our raffle prize! See information under registration below.
